Grey House Publishing (the “Company”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.

For purposes of this Agreement, “Service” refers to the Company’s service which can be accessed via our website at greyhouse.ca in which visitors to our website can view information about Grey House Publishing’s books and online products. The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company. “You” refers to you, as a visitor to our website or a customer of the Service. By accepting our Privacy Policy, you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

I. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect “Non-Personal Information”, “Personal Information” and “Publicly Available Personal Information”. Non-Personal Information includes information which cannot be associated with an identifiable individual, such as anonymous usage data.

Personal Information includes your contact information, which you submit to us through the purchasing process on the Site. If you are purchasing a product, we collect contact information, institution name, phone number, and institution address. If you provide your credit card information to purchase a title, we do not store that data.

Publicly Available Personal Information is collected for our directory publications through online research, questionnaires and telephone calls. Email addresses listed on an organization’s website(s) constitutes implied consent, unless otherwise specified. Completed questionnaires by an organization fall under express consent as the organization has provided the information to be included in our publication(s). This Publicly Available Personal Information is considered non-sensitive and we will endeavour to keep it non-sensitive.

II. HOW WE USE AND SHARE INFORMATION

Personal Information:

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information with third parties without your consent. We do not use software to scrape the web and electronically gather or harvest non-sensitive contact information. We do share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for the Company, such as the servers for our email communications who are provided access to user’s email address for purposes of sending emails from us. Those vendors use your Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Publicly Available Personal Information:

We do not publish publicly available personal information of an individual unless that information is the same as and is intended for business use. We do sell to third parties publicly available personal business information that we have collected for our directory publications.

Non-Personal Information

In general, we use Non-Personal Information to help us improve the Service and customize the user experience. We also aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns on the Site. Business-to-business customers of the Company also use our publications for research and/or marketing purposes to promote their product or service that is relevant to an organization listed in our databases.

We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. V. YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You have the right at any time to prevent us from contacting you for marketing purposes.
